| | For more than 10 years they unleash their death metal upon the masses with live performances and albums. This A construct to obliterate is their third. Nowadays old school death metal is pretty popular and blooming with releases of Asphyx, Pestilence and Obituary. Maybe Dark remains can benefit from this revival.
In the biography, they say the band stands for straightforward, old school, no-nonsense death metal. Well that pretty much says it all. They deliver eight songs that are mostly mid-tempo but they occasional slow down or pick the pace a notch or to. The simple grooving death is enjoyable but it doesn’t contain any real firework. What also doesn’t help is the production, especially the dominant snaredrum is really annoying.
As said it is an enjoyable album for a couple of songs but then I get rather tired of listening.
With a better production and more songs that with an edge (like the song Hatred’s glory) this album would come out better. Still, people who can’t get enough of this type of death metal can give them a try.
