After more than five years since his 2nd solo release Transformer, (His first solo album was Audio Dog in 2001), guitarist Bruce Kulick returns in early 2010 with BK3. Bruce Kulick, who first gained notoriety as a member of Meat Loaf's Bat Out Of Hell touring band, may be best known for his twelve years (1984-1996) as lead guitarist of KISS. This new album takes listeners for quite a ride over its twelve songs.

Hard Rock is the guide on this new solo album of Bruce Kulick with some sidesteps like the ballad I’ll Survive, the Beatlesque song Life and the great instrumental song Between The Lines with some funky notes. On this song Bruce has got some help from Steve Lukather (Toto). There are also some other guest on this BK3 album. For example father and son Simmons. Gene Simmons on Ain’t Gonna Die and Nick Simmons on Hand of the King. We also have John Corabi (Union) on Friend Of Mine and on I’m The Animal we have Tobias Sammet (EdGuy, Avantasia) and Eric Singer (Kiss, Alice Cooper, Brian May Band, ESP and many more). Dirty Girl has the potential of a single with on vocals Doug Fieger (The Knack). Last but not least we have the instrumental track Skydome which is a re-recording from the version that was in 2001 on Bruce album Audio Dog, and has lost nothing of its power from then.

So BK3 is a divers album from an excellent guitar player. In combination with some interesting guest musicians this is a must have for the Bruce Kulick fans out there.
I also would recommend this album to the fans of Kiss and Grand Funk Railroad, Bruce Kulick’s current band.
