When you like Maidenesque guitarwork, vocals (Dickinson without the yells) and great songwriting than this is the band for you. American based Miles Beyond is just that what you missed after the years of grunge and emo/screamo shit. Well played metal that some would refer to as True metal and if that’s what you wanna call it’s fine by me. Originally released in 2004 the album got a re-release by the band themself in 2006. The same year Miles Beyond played the famous HOA festival in Germany, always a must for real metal fans.
The album opens with Out Of Control which is a good song but doesn’t show the full potention of this band. With Tales Of Old the band hits you with speed and precision. The band continues the same high level in songwriting and execution in most of the other tracks. Rock Revolution is a more commercial song that’s boring. Besides this track it’s the production that could be better. Not that the sound is worthless but a more powerfull sound would enhance the pleasure of listening.
Every metalhead who likes excellent guitarsolo’s and good songwriting can buy this record.
