Yes, I found a new black Metal band that finaly reminds me of the genius Limbonic Art!!! I know I know, this is all but a new band. Nazxul is already formed in 1993 and after five years of silence they got back with a blasting new album called Iconoclast. The reason I said new is because (and I’m ashamed of it) that before this release I never heard of this Australian band. And in contrast of the previous band from this country, Austere which has a bit of a warm gloom over their music, this Nazxul is as icecold as a Scandinavian fjord.

Like I said, this symphonic black metal band has a strong comparison with the genius Limbonic Art, but we also find some of that what makes a band like Emperor so great (I’m not saying that this Nazxul are just as equal to or surpass these bands, but damn, they come close). And also that great organized chaos that these bands have. Beneath the music lurks also a bit of Dimmu Borgir (of course like the sound of their beginning days). The music is aggressive, bombastic, epic and majestic with that strong and powerful production. Between these strong songs and arrangements lie some instrumental and more ambient intermezzos that fit in well in the total picture of this album (what makes this more of an album you need to listen as a whole).

This is not only the best symphonic black metal album that I have heard in a couple of years, this album can be compared with the big ones of the genre. I strongly recommend fans of bands like Emperor and Limbonic Art to listen to this Iconoclast (actually all of the black metal disciples).
