After two EP’s is here the first full-length album from the Swedish DOOM band Void Moon. The band, consisting the members Peter Svensson ( b ), Jonas Gustavsson (v/g), Thomas Hedlund (d) and Erika Wallberg (g) are playing doom metal from the days nobody heard of Black Sabbath. With three tracks from the first EP (The Sword and the Abyss, The Burning Court and Through the Gateway) and two tracks from their second EP The Mourning Son (Cyclops and The Mourning Son) is most of the album a refreshing turning back to their earlier work. The four new tracks dovetail nicely with that early work. Hammer of Eden and the title track On the blackest Night are two great doom metal tracks and Psychic Bleeding is a short instrumental, but for me is the most promising track the more than 7 minutes clocking Among the Dying. That song is what Void Moon stands for. Great riffs all over the album is what you get from this sympathetic Swedish band. Go check them out when they are in your neighborhood and buy this album by Cruz Del Sur Music online. (http://www.cruzdelsurmusic.com/store/index.php?route=product/product&keyword=void+moon&category_id=0&product_id=568) So you don’t have to leave your house for it! In the mean time I am putting the furniture aside in the living room and do some DOOMDANCING with this new Void Moon!
