Back with their 5th full-length attack on the world is the US power/traditional heavy metal act Attacker. Born in the good old fashioned 1980’s with albums Battle at Helm’s Deep (1985) and The Second Coming (1988), woke up again with Soul Taker (2004) and The Unknown (2006) and back on track with this new effort Giants of Canaan in 2013 brought to you by the nice Metal-on-Metal label. What you get in 2013 is what you loved in 1985. Great US power metal with overthrown with a some traditional metal influences. Great guitar riffs, -hooks, -solos from Pat Marinelli and Mike Benetatos. A solid base with the drums of Mike Sabatini and the bass of Jon Hanemann and of course the high pitch vocals from newcomer Bobby “leather lungs” Lucas who you might know from the bands Overlorde or Seven Witches. An intro and 10 kick-ass US Metal songs on this one. Highly recommended if you like bands as Liege Lord, Jag Panzer, Helstar, Iron Maiden and Vicious Rumors. If I read the thank you list on the booklet I see a lot of names I do know from the past or from now. This music from Attacker on Giants of Canaan is for me timeless.
