| | Many bands wouldn't have survived what Tragodia did survive. 11 years after the band was founded they can finally release their first full length album. The Promethean Legacy is their first record with both male and female vocals. The band has its origin in Italy and surprisingly you can't hear that in the vocals.
The album has a nice kickoff and is quite easy listening at first sight. When listening to the songs you start to find out that there is a more and very melodic, melancholic layer below the music. This is really cool. The songs are all quite compact but very well composed. Everything starts on the right time and the guitars and keyboards work together like they were meant to do! Also the blend of vocals, soft grunts lots of male clean and a bit female really fits perfectly into the music.
Musically and lyrically this album really is a pearl. On the other side I cannot say that it is very original. But that doesn't really matter to me for this band. Tragødia is serving a fantastic mix of doom and gothic. It fits perfectly in a row with Katatonia and others. I can only say that if you like doomy music you definitely should give them a try.
