Torian

01. Icefall
02. Stormbringer
03. Thunder times
04. Eternal dreamless sleep
The German Torian exists since 2002, and after a demo in 2003 they released their first album Dreams under Ice in 2005. That was a lot of double bass and more thrash oriented powermetal and so a bit raw produced. A good record though.

Their second album Thunder Times is in process, and as an appetizer this 4-track demo is brought to us. The sharp edges are off a bit, but that’s a result of a better production because the metal sounds still the same. The fast opener Icefall leaves little doubt.
More melodic vocals perhaps, still the fast double bass with high prevalence and all songs with nice (bass) guitar riffs. Recognizable thrash/heavy metal influences and a daring 12 min. song Eternal Dreamless sleep on a promo cd. That could be a misconception, but in this case it’s a show case for their musical variety!

These 5 Germans have evolved themselves and a tour as an opener for bands like Blind Guardian, Iced Earth of Iron Maiden wouldn’t be misplaced! Let’s hear the new full album Thunder Times, the sooner the better.
