Darkest Era

01. The Morrigan
02. Visions of the Dawn
03. Another World Awaits
04. On The Crest Of Doom
Darkest Era was previously known as Nemesis which was formed in 2005. But after 2 years they changed their name to Darkest Era to fit their sound more. A bit more dark and evil.
They’ve got quite an interesting sound. Celtic-metal with power-metal sounding vocals and some flaws of agony in the music.
The cover of this MCD shows an old lady washing off blood from a sword in a river. To me more a cover for a black-metal band. The lady looks a bit like the one on the cover of Legion of the Damned’s Malevolent Rapture. But what’s a cover worth, we’re most times buying cd’s for the music and not a cover.
The cd hasn’t got any folk instruments in it, only on just a few places a violin. This and the clean vocals give it a sound like that of Primordial. He can tell great story’s in his songs what the voice of Dwayne Maguire is also capable off. It just makes it a calmful sounding cd even though there aren’t any acoustic guitars in it or slow melody’s. You can turn this cd on every time when you want to relax. It really is a piece of high quality. Too bad it’s just a MCD with just 4 tracks on it.
