| | On a yearly base bands fade away and spin back into a new form. Mainly for the reason that the music changed and that has nothing to do with what they once where doing.
This is the same deal with Anmod which comes out of the ashes of the Brazilian band ‘Fornication’. Only the music just made not a big change. Where ‘Fornication’ just played death metal, now they play death metal with more grind influences.
Almost the entire time they play in the fifth gear with almost no room for any nuances. That’s why I can’t get a good grip on the album. It rages on and on with constant blastbeats accompanied by not very exciting riffs and the monotonous grunt.
Anmod has tons of aggression, brutality and speed and that is something I can definitely appreciate but using only those doesn’t make an album good.
I also have to say that there are a lot bands that sound a lot worse than this but it seems that they didn’t had a lot of inspiration putting in some variation in the songs. Which causes the effect, that it goes in one ear and out the other.
In conclusion: It’s isn’t all bad but the lack of variation kills this album.
